Hi,

this is the XRAY report of one of my friends sister.

LEft medial aspects of acetabulum not well formed with poorly
modelling, left femoral head S/O acetabular Dysplasia

what's this condition known as? I need to know details if this is
curable.

What I see in your report is slightly confusing because well, I'm not a
doctor, but hip replacement surgery comes to mind. I have to wonder if
the problem goes below the knee though. Has she seen a podiatrist?

a dysplastic hip means that the socket or acetabulum has not fully
developed and therefore shallow. a shallow hip, is predispose to develop
degenerative arthritis since the wt. of the person is concentrated in a
limited area in the hip joints. in a young child, this is corrected by
reconstructing the socket but if arthritis has set in in adults, hip
replacement surgery might be indicated with bone graft to deepen the
socket. your orthopedist can give you a definite anwer.
