Could someone explain to me the lifting restriction my surgeon is playing on
me after my hip replacement for DDH?
thanks,
Jess
This is a quote from the patient information leaflets on the Arthritis
Research Campaign website - I hope it answers your question.

It is very important to follow these rules. For example, you will be
told not to bend the hips to more than 90ยบ (e.g. squatting, or sitting
in a low chair) and never to cross your legs, because these positions
could dislocate your new hip.

- They also have a lot of other leaflets and information on how to
look after your new hip and what you can expect to do when.

Good luck

Not so much. He's making it a lifetime lifting restriction, not just for the
recovery period.
