1. I want to know how common is it to use a catheter on male patients
to urinate them, when a man has surgery to put a rod into his calf-
bone in case of a fracture, in India?
2. Who puts in this catheter?
3. Is it put while the patient is conscious? Is it taken out when the
patient is conscious?
4. What is the exact procedure of putting this in and out? Does the
patient urinate on his own with the catheter or does he need the
nurse's help?
5. In India is this job done by female nurses or male?
6. Is it important to put in he catheter?
I would like answers from surgeons/ nurses/ as well as patients.
My friend had this operation and I'm very jealous of someone seeing
him like this. I want to know how this would have happened but can ask
him.
Thanx for your help, I'm really anxious!
